About The Artist Carol Lieberman

About the Artist

Carol Lieberman started creating pet portraits after the loss of her 13 year old beloved cat, Peppy. In capturing his image in a painting for her family she captured "his soul." The experience awakened in her the powerful sense of that special relationship we all have with our pets.

She has linked up with the Hurley Veterinary Hospital and other rescue shelters that are asked to provide refuge and medical care for local homeless stays, lost or injured animals. This special fund pays for medical and critical care. It also is used for blood work, vaccines, spaying or neutering. When the animals are well enough, they are put up for adoption. Join her in her mission to help our animal friends.

Carol earned her BA in Fine Arts at Brooklyn College and studied at the Woodstock School of Art. She has exhibited at the Art Upstairs, Phoenicia, NY.

Woodstock Artists Association & Museum, Woodstock, NY, Barrett Art Center, Poughkeepsie, NY and the Arts Society of Kingston, Kingston, NY.

Her work is in private collections throughout the United States.

Artists Statement
I enjoy the process of creating a realistic painting of an animal by interpreting with accuracy the texture of their fur, the moisture of their nose and the sparkle in their eyes. I become absorbed into their personality and warmth. With each portrait, I am always looking for that special connection. When I am done, I have a soulful painting that gives me great fulfillment.
